fall into autumn: going on when you can’t go on

Darling Cluster,

It’s that time again. *starts ugly crying* it’s not Friday but who cares. Life is all about making something sweet out of something bitter.

It’s been two months since my last update. What have I been doing since then? A whole lot of nothing writing-wise. I have so much going on that I am drowning. A little bit of background: I work 40hrs a week at a fast-paced, non-writing job. I am helping #3 establish a time-consuming business, and I am battling self-worth issues. Yep, nothing new there.

I have a
newsletter now. I'm still working out the kinks and content but it's there. So, sign up.

Without further ado, fall into autumn with me. Or, as I like to call it, going on when you can't go on. This is #fridayfrien d.
...all your mistakes might seem colossal in the moment but they are small in hindsight...

the plan

NaNoWriMo is on the horizon and to help me prepare, I am participating in Inktober. It's going good so far. Check out my Instagram (I know! I have that too) for some of my artwork.

Earlier this year, I stated that I envied anyone with a five year plan. Then I started stalking Marissa Meyer's blog again. She has a trove of information for the burgeoning writer and I discovered her five year writing plan. I decided to make a one year plan and cross things off as I accomplish them.

By doing this, I hope I am speaking my works and dreams into existence.
So, here goes something:

2018-2019

  • October: Inktober; Crown Outline
  • November: NaNoWriMo; Crown Draft I
  • December: Feedback; Research
  • January: Crown Draft II; Submit poem
  • February: Crown Draft II; attempt short story
  • March: Feedback; New WIP research
  • April: Crown Draft III
  • May: Feedback; WIP research; Submit poem
  • June: WIP Outline; Crown draft IV?
  • July: WIP Draft I; QoA research
  • August: #pitchwars; Deathless research; QoA outline
  • September: WIP Feedback (trying not to think about Crown); Submit poem
  • October: Inktober; #pitchwars result (+!); QoA research; submit short story
  • November: NaNoWriMo; QoA Draft I

2018 Goals

  • Drawing each day: Inktober, keep the lights on.
  • Writing each day: On track (Mainly poetry, dialogue between characters; outlines; snippets from WIP)
  • Submitting my poems (specifically, 1 poem each month): Rejection Station.
  • Finishing my manuscript: Which one? Hahahaha. In progress (I've outlined a draft of my WIP. I'll polish it before writing)
  • Submitting to agents: Not yet started

Did you make your own goal oriented calendar? Share them with me.

Remember, keep going. All your mistakes might seem colossal in the moment but they are small in hindsight. Your potential is limited only by the scope of your imagination.
