So...you want to be a writer?

Great! A question first:
Are you in this for the money?

Take a moment to think about it.

Done?

Continue.

If you are in it for the money, writing is not for you. If you are in it because you love it and view the monetary reward as a plus then read ahead.
Why?
Because to be a writer is to be the embodiment of patience and dedication. The personal gratification of seeing your work in print should always rank higher than the monetary gratification.
I'm not here to dissuade you, I'm here to give you a dose of reality. You must hone your craft before you can forge ahead.
Join me on Fridays (irregularly from now until the foreseeable future) for a dose of reality and a heaping of helpful information in a segment I like to call "Friday Friend."
The aim is to help you navigate through the forest that is the writing world and the publishing jungle where only the fittest survive.
On some Tuesdays, I will post writing prompts to help you significantly improve your writing.
Sharpen your pencils! Is there ink in your pen? Is your computer/type-writer working correctly?

Let's get started!
